Description
Summary:The commented publication of letters from guests, employees, and members of the Council of Management of the House of Writers named after V.F. Gol- ubev to Sergei Grigoryevich Berednikov (1853-1915), discovered in the personal fund of Tikhvin merchants (State Archive of the Novgorod region), complements the known information about the capital’s literary life of the 1910s. Opened in 1905, the House of Writers named after V.F. Golubev, owned by the Literary Fund, was conceived as a hostel for people of creative professions. S.G. Berednikov, in the 1910–1914s — a member of the House Management Council and its head, was forced by position to delve into the complex of everyday problems, which the guests of the House informed him in letters. The publication clarifies the names of the residents of the House of Writers in the first half of the 1910s and publishes separate documents regulating its work.
