Summary:Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs ) participate in the process of transformations occurring in their environment, which is manifested in their ongoing readiness to investment activity. The aim of this article was to identify relations between the SME investment and the development of tourist regions on the example of three spa and tourist communities. The analysis presented in this article is the result of CATI (with the tourist enterprises) and IDI (with leaders of tourism entrepreneurship) research. Data analysis was performed using statistical measures. The problems related to nature, sources, barriers and SME investment activity were analyzed.
