De letter A (a) is de eerste letter in het moderne Latijnse alfabet. De letter stamt uit het Grieks. Wanneer zij vóór een woord wordt gevoegd ("alfa privans"), verandert zij dit in zijn tegendeel: asociaal = niet sociaal.De letter kan ook verwijzen naar:
