Emergency Pulsed-Field Ablation as a Bail-Out Strategy for Refractory Incessant VT

Pulsed-field ablation (PFA) is a promising, nonthermal energy allowing efficient and safe pulmonary vein isolation during atrial fibrillation catheter ablation. We present here a case of successful PFA-based ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation as a bail-out strategy for refractory incessant VT. Cl...

Description
Summary:Pulsed-field ablation (PFA) is a promising, nonthermal energy allowing efficient and safe pulmonary vein isolation during atrial fibrillation catheter ablation. We present here a case of successful PFA-based ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation as a bail-out strategy for refractory incessant VT. Clinical evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of PFA-based VT ablation is limited to rare case reports. The present case report shows the potential benefits of PFA in terms of efficiency and safety in selected patients but still with limitations that must be addressed by future technological developments.
