Description
Summary:The study highlights the crucial role of disease severity in family caregivers. In moderate and severe Alzheimer’s stages, distress increased over time. Forgiveness mediated the relationship between distress and QoL, with forgiveness at T1 predicting less distress six months after (T2) and the latter predicting mental and physical QoL, one year after T1 (T3). Improvements in mental QoL were shown to positively influence physical QoL outcomes. The prolonged impact of early distress underscores the importance of timely interventions to alleviate long-term strain.
