Description
Summary:The varied perceptions of organizational culture among employees highlight the complex and multifaceted nature of workplace dynamics. This study examines the relationship between employees’ perceptions of their organization’s culture and their work performance. A survey was conducted with 281 employees from two public media institutions in Ghana to understand these dynamics. The findings showed that while employees had positive views on areas like training, leadership support, and job performance, there were significant concerns about reward systems, conflict management, and employee involvement in decision-making. Many employees were dissatisfied with compensation and unclear conflict resolution procedures. Overall, the study found that organizational culture does influence employee performance, but employees’ perceptions vary widely, from dissatisfaction and conflict to high performance under stress. The study suggests that tailored strategies are needed to address these diverse perceptions and create a workplace culture that supports both employee performance and well-being.
