| description | The article proves an approach to library activity as one of social practice, realized within a social institution of reading. The main feature of a library science as social practice is revealed in comparison with bookstores and archives activities, which is the organization of public usage of documents in actual and longtime regimes. It shows that separate components of the electronic environment (electronic libraries, sites, blogs, etc.) are included in the same social practice without institutionalization process (forming establishments). The conclusion is made that nowadays libraries are not the exclusive environment for realizing social practice of public documents usage arrangement. |
