description The article is devoted to the study of the role of professional competitions as socio-cultural technologies in the process of socialization and adaptation of young people with mental health problems. The paper considers the goals and objectives of professional competitions, their role in the formation of communication and professional skills of participants, as well as the mechanism of influence on the process of social integration. An attempt was made to comprehensively understand the process of organizing professional competitions, taking into account the health characteristics of the participants. The influence of competitions on the further socialization of participants and their professional and career growth is assessed. The motivation and possibilities of distance learning technologies in organizing work with young people with mental health problems are analyzed. The creative component of competitions as part of psychological therapy is also described, various formats of participation in therapy are given. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the difficulties that may arise in the process of working with participants with mental health problems, methods are described that allow avoiding mistakes in organizing a professional competition for this category of participants. The key components are analyzed that allow creating a unique environment conducive to socialization, development of skills and increasing self-esteem of competition participants. A conclusion is made about the positive influence of professional competitions on the level of adaptation and self-esteem of young people with mental health problems. The conclusion presents the prospects for the development of this technology and the possibilities of its application in social policy and practice of working with young people.
