Description
Summary:This paper aims to discuss the most wide spread notions regarding globalization processes in Latin American economies, which set them at the early or mid-19th century, in the means of establishing a different, longer chronology. A manifold of earlier literature on the subject, little taken into account by recent studies, is here given back its due merits. At the same time, the effects of changes in the ways of integrating into world economy from the early 19th century are here addressed in detail, particularly as concerns interregional inequality in Latin America.
