| Summary: | The paper presents literature data on the history of the finding of Ebers' papyrus and its further study. Its contents are disclosed: the diseases that were known to ancient doctors are listed, the list of medicines used by Egyptian doctors is presented, and technological methods for their preparation are indicated. On the basis of the data presented, it was concluded that it was in Egypt that the «Base of Medicines» was born, which was later used by the doctors of Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome and later by the Aesculapius of Europe. |
