| Summary: | The proposed article is devoted to issues related to the position of the Circassians in the Soviet Union and their relations with compatriots abroad. Special attention is paid to the activities of the Association for Relations with Compatriots Abroad “Homeland”, by which the first contacts were established and which provided communication between people living in Northwest Caucasus and Circassian Diaspora in Turkey and Arab countries. After the collapse of the USSR Association’s activities significantly decreased, but it certainly managed to make an important contribution to the maintenance of ethno-cultural identity of foreign Circassians and development of good relations between the USSR and the Middle East. |
