Description
Summary:The newly proposed Gamma Interval Function is treated in detail in this work for the first time. The function may be applied to all fundamental engineering problems where multiple solutions exist over the whole domain of interest. With the aid of the function, multiple solutions defined over the different parts of the domain can be practically expressed as a single solution. Application problems are selected from mechanical engineering courses such as dynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer and mechanical vibrations. The potential application areas are much more general than discussed here, and the function can be applied to many mathematical expressions inheriting discontinuities, which is represented by algebraic or differential equation forms.
