This study retraces the origins and developments of gold-working technical know-how at a time marked by intense cultural exchanges and by major changes affecting societies and their identifies. The object is to highlight the mechanisms of transfer of technological, artistic and artisanal know-how among gold- and silversmiths from two different traditions and with two different cultural identities. |
