Description
Summary:Currently, the problem of excess weight, obesity in men should be considered as a separate factor affecting reproductive function. Subfertile men have a higher body mass index (BMI) than the general population. Weight gain in men is associated with lower testosterone levels, poorer sperm quality, and reduced fertility compared to men of normal weight. The aim of the study was to study the indicators of ejaculate in Kuzbass men with normal and overweight. The obtained results of the studies demonstrate the absence of a relationship between high BMI and spermogram parameters in Kuzbass men. During the study, no significant relationship was found between different groups of patients by BMI with spermogram parameters. Additional cohort studies are needed to account for potential confounding factors.
