Description
Item Description:Summer on the West Coast of America means but one thing to the hundreds of fishermen here, it's the albacore season. They're a species of tuna. From San Diego where they're caught, they're sent up to the huge canneries in Los Angeles. During the summer, thousands of albacore migrate to the northeast corner of the Pacific to feed but finding them is never easy. Fishermen can waste days looking for a shoal that's worth catching. But now they're turning skywards for help, to surveillance satellites that can help them locate concentrations of plankton, food for smaller fish which in turn attract the hungry albacore!
