Description
Item Description:At the turn of the century, man's relationship to marine populations held only minor interest for a few scientists. Now that interest has turned to urgency. The biological reactions of aquatic animals became the subject of a controlled study in the laboratory. The nervous systems of the creatures of the sea now give us valuable clues as to their complex and often mysterious behaviour. And as we learn more, the day comes closer when we will be able to manage fisheries constructively instead of exploiting them at random. There is not much time for human populations have quadrupled this century and marine resources are already under pressure!
