Item Description: | One of Australia's best known architects, John Andrews, was a 29 year old part-time assistant professor at Toronto University when he was asked to design Scarborough College. The result is an amazing, innovative mixture of technology and forms which has influenced architecture all over the world. At an age when most architects were just finding their way, Andrews received contracts for schools, colleges and arts museums. He designed the revolutionary Miami Seaport passenger terminal, a building which illustrates his rational approach, a building for people. There is no precedent for this building design among the shipping berths of the world. |
