Evolutionary analysis of plant jacalin-related lectins (JRLs) family and expression of rice JRLs in response to Magnaporthe oryzae by Yi-juan HAN, Zhen-hui ZHONG, Lin-lin SONG, Olsson Stefan, Zong-hua WANG, Guo-dong LU
Published 2018-06-01Jacalin-related lectins (JRLs) are widely distributed carbohydrate-binding proteins in the plant kingdom, which play key roles in development and pathogen defense. In this study, we profiled evolutionary trajectory of JRLs family in 30 plant species and identified domain diversification and recombin...

Magnaporthe Rab5 homologs show distinct functions in nerve growth factor (NGF)-mediated neurite outgrowth and cell differentiation by Yao-yao QI, Zhi-min LIANG, Jie ZHOU, Zong-hua WANG, Guo-dong LU, Guang-pu LI
Published 2015-05-01Nerve growth factor (NGF) binds to TrkA and forms a NGF/TrkA complex at the cell surface, which is then internalized into signaling endosomes and promotes neuronal survival and neurite outgrowth. The small GTPase Rab5 is reported to localize on the plasma membrane and early endosomes, regulating end...

Histone H3K27me3 methylation regulates the expression of secreted proteins distributed at fast-evolving regions through transcriptional repression of transposable elements by Jia-hui XIE, Wei TANG, Guo-dong LU, Yong-he HONG, Zhen-hui ZHONG, Zong-hua WANG, Hua-kun ZHENG
Published 2023-10-01The fine-tuned expression dynamics of the effector genes are pivotal for the transition from vegetative growth to host colonization of pathogenic filamentous fungi. However, mechanisms underlying the dynamic regulation of these genes remain largely unknown. Here, through comparative transcriptome an...

The peroxisomal matrix shuttling receptor Pex5 plays a role in FB1 production and virulence in Fusarium verticillioides by Wen-ying YU, Mei LIN, Hui-juan YAN, Jia-jia WANG, Sheng-min ZHANG, Guo-dong LU, Zong-hua WANG, SHIM Won-Bo
Published 2022-10-01The peroxisomal matrix oxidase, catalase and peroxidase are imported peroxisomes through the shuttling receptors, which regulates the cellular oxidative homeostasis and function. Here, we report that PTS1 shuttling receptor FvPex5 is involved in the localization of PTS1, utilization of carbon source...

Cascade reaction–driven biomimetic scintillant/metal–organic frameworks for X-ray triggered combinational therapy against glioma by Lansheng Wang, Duo Xu, Xudong Hu, Rui Quan, Dong Lu, Zhen Li, Changshui Yu, Xingjun Li, Shuo Ma, Xiaoming Li, Zhengkui Zhang, Rutong Yu
Published 2025-08-01Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive primary brain tumor with a grim prognosis and low survival rates. This unfavorable therapeutic outcome is partially because of the inadequate immune infiltration and an immunosuppressive microenvironment, which compromises the effectiveness of conventional r...

Effects of nitrogen application rate and hill density on rice yield and nitrogen utilization in sodic saline–alkaline paddy fields by Xiao-hong GUO, Yu-chen LAN, Ling-qi XU, Da-wei YIN, Hong-yu LI, Yong-de QIAN, Gui-ping ZHENG, Yan-dong LÜ
Published 2021-02-01Soil salinity and alkalinity can inhibit crop growth and reduce yield, and this has become a global environmental concern. Combined changes in nitrogen (N) application and hill density can improve rice yields in sodic saline–alkaline paddy fields and protect the environment. We investigated the inte...

Comparative analysis of the genome of the field isolate V86010 of the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae from Philippines by Kun-peng ZHU, Jian-dong BAO, Lian-hu ZHANG, Xue YANG, Yuan LI, Ming-hui ZHU, Qing-yun LIN, Ao ZHAO, Zhen ZHAO, Bo ZHOU, Guo-dong LU
Published 2017-10-01Abstract: Genome dynamics of pathogenic organisms are driven by plant host and pathogenic organism co-evolution, in which pathogen genomes are used to overcome stresses imposed by hosts with various genetic backgrounds through generation of a range of field isolates. This model also applies to the r...
